Q

A
No. The unretrieved eggs are about to atrophy anyway. Therefore, the procedure of egg freezing won’t lead to early menopause.
Q

How is egg retrieval processed? Is general anesthesia required? Does the patient need to be hospitalized?

A
During the egg retrieval process, anesthetic medication is dripped into the body to produce anesthesia, so the patient won’t feel any pain at all. At first, vaginal ultrasound is employed to locate the follicles, then egg retrieval needle is used to extract the follicular fluid from the ovaries. The painless process takes about 10-15 minutes. Stitches are not required. Hospitalization is unnecessary. If the patient doesn’t feel uncomfortable, she can go home directly.
